2020-21 Hamilton Girls Softball Association Team Manager Packet
I. Manager's Responsibilities
· Review and understand your responsibilities as a Manager in the Hamilton Girls Softball League.
· Sign the manager agreement, which is found here.
· Remember that this is a Recreational League and the players should HAVE FUN while learning and playing softball with us.
· Enjoy your year!
II. Coaching with HGSA
- Model and teach your players to Honor the Game.
- Teach the elements of ROOTS–Respect for: Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates and Self
· Help players Redefine what it means to be a “Winner” in terms of Mastery, not just the Scoreboard.
· Fill your players’ Emotional Tanks.
· Have Conversations during Team Meetings with your players at every practice and every game.

Please take the free online course and print off a certificate for your team records.
III. Forms that need to be filled out:
1. Manager’s Agreement
· Must be completed by manager prior to start of season.
2. Background Check
· All managers and coaches must undergo a criminal background check every 3 years. TCN/PCN number must be provided each year to [email protected]
3. Staff Form and uniform sheet
· This form is to be filled out after the draft and submitted to the VP of Equipment and Uniforms.
IV. Concession Stand Information
Each manager is responsible to have one parent in the concession stand each game.
For your team's concession duty:
1. You need 1 parent for each game. Games cannot start without a fully staffed concession stand.
2. Everyone on concession should arrive by 5:45pm (Saturday@ 8:45am)
3. When there is a rain out, your duty will be with the makeup games, if they are scheduled.
4. Each person in the concession stand should decide what they will do. One person should be on the register, another cooking, and others taking orders.
V. Team Practice
· It is the manager’s responsibility to schedule practices each week and determine the best practice schedule for your team.
· Please review how to schedule a field and ensure a field is available prior to scheduling practice.
· Please ensure you have received confirmation from Tom Kandash or have a Hamilton Township permit before using the field or facility.
VI. Code of Conduct
· Distribute and review the HGSA Parents, Spectators and Coaches Code of Conduct with all of your players parents/guardians and coaches.
· Distribute and review the HGSA Players Code of Conduct with all of your players.
VII. Keys
· Individual keys will be issued to managers at the beginning of the season.
· Keys will allow you access to the cage, bathrooms garages and meeting room as well as fields.
· Keys are to be returned at the end of the season when equipment is returned.
