Softball Gear to Bring:

Fielders Mask, Glove, Bat, Helmet, Cleats, Catchers Gear (if needed), Water Bottle

Little Rookies at HGSA Spring 2025

Little Rookies at HGSA is now offering a new program for 3-4 year old girl's softball!

(5 year old's can be registered at discretion of parent and/or coaches ; please reach out to [email protected] if you are unsure whether your child would be best in Little Rookies OR T-Ball this season. Registration will not be open for 5 year old's at first check, please reach out!

Your athlete will learn the basics of the game, including;

-Base running

-Throwing

-Fielding

-Hitting

-Hand/Eye Coordination

Learn to play the game in an age and skill appropriate format that will keep your child's attention and motivation high. Each session ends with a small scrimmage to help athletes learn to play a real game.

Little Rookies uses age appropriate equipment provided by the program. (No glove needed - hands on catching for coordination building, the program uses foam bats and/or Wiffle ball bats to maintain a safe environment for younger athletes) Little Rookies uses soft touch balls that are used without a softball glove - no need to purchase a glove at this time!

Athletes are involved in HGSA league events (picture day, opening day parade, end of year picnic, etc.) Get involved now!

Days/Times: 6 classes (weeks), 1 hour (45 mins instruction/ 15 min scrimmage) SUNDAYS at 9:00-10:00am

Starting April 6, 2025 (Sundays) - schedule TBD, but sessions/games will always be on Sunday mornings.

Ending May 18, 2025

Week 6 - 7: 30 Minutes of Instruction, 30 minutes of scrimmage play

Week 8: 15 min warmup/instruction and 45 min showcase game

Equipment Needed: Molded Spikes (not metal), no gloves required

Please wear comfortable athletic attire.
